Women’s empowerment is the most crucial point to be noted for the overall development of a country. It basically means accepting and allowing women in this patriarchal society in the process of decision-making. This process creates power in individuals over their own lives, society, and in their communities. Women’s empowerment is about equipping and allowing women to make lifedetermining decisions through the different problems in society. Women are empowered when they are able to access the opportunities available to them without limitations and restrictions such as in education, profession and lifestyle. The ffeeling of being entitled to make own decisions, creates a sense of confidence.

Women's economic empowerment refers to the ability for women to enjoy their right to control and benefit from the resources, assets, income and their own time, their ability to manage risk and improve their socio-economic status as well as the well being of their beloved family. It is much focused on the impact it brings on the family welfare, poverty alleviation, sustainable development and have greater economic and social autonomy. Women in nuclear households enjoy greater decision-making power, freedom of movement outside the home and participation in jobs. Women’s empowerment in India is largely aimed at strengthening women’s financial status. These policies include greater employment opportunities for women, greater asset ownership, gender neutral inheritance rights, and differential income tax structures favouring women. Better policies aimed at improving women’s employment, ownership of financial assets, healthcare seeking behaviours, participation in local politics and so forth may be more successful if they emphasise on the benefits accruing to women. With these entitlements their freedom to seek health benefits and to visit health centres for themselves and their family improvises. Women's ability to participate equally in existing markets; their access to and control over productive resources, access to decent work, control over their own time, lives and bodies, and increased voice, agency and meaningful participation in economic decision-making boosts their productivity, increases economic diversification and income equality in addition to other positive development outcomes. Most importantly increasing women’s and girls’ educational attainment contributes to empowerment and more inclusive economic growth. Education, upskilling and re-skilling over the life course especially to keep pace with rapid technological and digital transformations are critical for women’s and girl’s health and wellbeing, as well as their incomegeneration opportunities. Thus Women’s Empowerment includes the action of raising the status of women through education, raising awareness, literacy and training.
